![]() We are worried it won't have any story and just mindless hack and slashing, constant loot drops, inventory micromanagement and grinding. ![]() There's also Baldur's Gate DA games, although they seem more archaic and arcadish, and the prices are ridiculously high for a PS2 game. Originally I wanted to play Diablo 2 Resurrected with him, but turns out there NO LOCAL COOP for this game. It has Couch Coop, with a shared screen, I think? No split screen so no splitting apart your own way: during exploration, NPC interaction and other activities. (Still expensive for a 10+ yo game!) I was wondering if that will be a good game to move into after DoS2.? I know it's vastly different, but what do you guys think and feel about the Shared Screen Coop Hack and Slash RPGs, such as:Īnd the older PS2 games now re-released: Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 1 and Dark Alliance 2 ?ĭiablo 3 Eternal Collection is on sale for 20$ on PS5, ending in a few days. I've never played it but it looks like it was heavily inspired by D:OS2's combat: Incredible game with fast turns, can play local co-op against the AI:ĮDIT: Whoops, completely forgot about this game, too. My most recent favorite strategy RPG, however, is a game called Legion War. Just note that turns will take forever in these types of games. If you're into strategy RPGs, you could try the Heroes of Might and Magic series, Age of Wonders, or Disciples, and just make yourselves allies from the start of the game. Unfortunately the Trials of Mana remake doesn't have multiplayer at all. The Mana games have local multiplayer as well, but those are rather old so I bet you've played them already. If you're into JRPGs, the "Tales of" series usually has local multiplayer for combat, with one person controlling the main character otherwise. At the very least they'll have multiplayer co-op over the internet rather than couch. Lots of action RPGs and beat 'em ups with RPG elements fit the bill, though. ![]() Honestly, I can't think of any other turn-based couch co-op RPGs. You can distill it down even further if you want, adding more tags like "turn-based". Here's a bunch of games using the following filters: "co-op" "local multiplayer" "rpg": ![]()
